1. Overview
ShellSSH is an SSH, terminal, SFTP and server-management product. It can store information you intentionally provide, such as server profiles, usernames, connection preferences, SSH key metadata and app settings.
Before release, this policy should be checked against the final Google Play Data safety form and any Microsoft Store privacy declarations.
2. Data stored on your device
Core app data can include server profiles, hostnames or IP addresses, usernames, SSH ports, authentication preferences, locally stored SSH keys, terminal preferences and connection history.
Local SSH key material is intended to remain protected on the device unless you explicitly use a feature that synchronizes supported workspace information.
3. Optional encrypted synchronization
On plans that support sync, sensitive payloads are encrypted on the client before being sent to the backend. The product design uses AES-256-GCM for authenticated encryption and derives keys locally using PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256.
The synchronization design is intended so the service backend does not receive plaintext credentials contained in encrypted payloads.
4. Diagnostics and telemetry
ShellSSH may provide optional diagnostics or crash reporting to help identify failures and improve reliability. Where a telemetry control is available, you can use that setting to control optional diagnostics.
Do not include passwords, private keys or sensitive command output when manually submitting logs or support information.
5. Account information
If you sign in for account-based features, ShellSSH may process basic account identifiers needed to authenticate you, associate eligible plan features and manage registered devices.
6. Retention and deletion
Local app information remains on your device until you remove it, clear app data or uninstall the app. Account or synchronized data may be retained as needed to provide the service, preserve sync consistency and meet legitimate security or legal requirements.
7. Your choices
Depending on the available feature set, you can choose whether to use cloud sync, whether to enable optional telemetry, which servers to save and which credentials or keys to keep in ShellSSH.
